Management
Phil Sickles, President
For over 30 years Phil has been in the information management field. He started with Eastman Kodak's microfilming division, BSMD,
in 1967. He covered several territories in the Midwest before a transfer in 1972 sent him to New Jersey where he was
responsible for automated records systems filing and retrieval using CAR (Computer Assisted Retrieval).
In 1976 Phil was hired by the State of Iowa to implement a newly initiated records management program for all 72 state
agencies. His responsibilities included establishing the State Records Center, the State Micrographics Center, and the
Records Manual. After establishing the center Phil was responsible for all facets of the program including procurement, staffing,
training, budgeting, and working closely with the Judicial and Legislative branches.
In 1981 he created what is now the Owens King Company. His vision was to form an organization dedicated
to the records management needs of businesses and local governments. In pursuit of that vision Phil utilized
the best of new technologies, strategic vendor partnerships, and innovative ideas to provide efficient and cost effective
filing, imaging, filming, storage, and retrieval products to his customers.
